Radiata pine (Pinus radiata) seedlings

from $300.00

GF (genetic factor) 19 radiata pine seedlings - a timber selection bred for high yield and lower branching.

Seedlings take 9-12 months to grow to planting size - 25-30cm tall at field planting. Crops are sown from August to November. Crops generally available for shipping from May - October

Recommended timber stocking 800-1350 stems per hectare. Higher rate for sites with over 1000mm rainfall per year or where high risk of losses is anticipated

Spacings: 2.7 - 3.3m

Recommended planting time: Cool/wet season. May-September in most of Australia.

Minimum annual rainfall recommended: 700mm per year

Soil and site conditions: Thrives on sandy, gravelly or rocky sites with good drainage. Will also grow well on heavier soils on slopes. Avoid planting areas that can be periodically waterlogged or with poorly drained clay or silt soils. Prefers acidic conditions.

Climate: Cool to warm temperate sites. Suits most of coastal and tableland/highland NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. Will also grow well in higher elevations in SE Queensland. Suits all parts except upper highlands of Tasmania.
